Who is my TMCF Talent Manager?

Who is my TMCF Yardie? 

Please work with your TMCF talent manager to connect with your TMCF Yardie. 

When will I hear an update on the status of my application? 

Your TMCF talent manager will provide an update on your application the first week of July. 

Do I have to attend a TMCF member school to attend the Leadership Institute? 

Yes. The TMCF Leadership Institute is reserved for top HBCU talent enrolled in a full-time undergraduate/post-graduate study at a publicly-supported Historically Black College or University (HBCU) / TMCF member-school.

Do I have to book my hotel and travel for the Leadership Institute?  

Scholars will receive free lodging, travel, and major meals covered, as a part of their participation. 

How long is the leadership Institute? 

Leadership institute consists of 4 full days of professional development networking and workshops designed to simulate a professional working schedule. 

What is the dress code? 

The attire for Leadership Institute is business professional. Jeans, sneakers, or any other casual attire is prohibited. 

I received a conditional offer to attend Leadership Institute, what does that mean? 

Your conditional offer is contingent upon you completing all pre LI deliverables as outlined in your conditional offer letter. Your offer can be rescinded at any time should you fail to meet any of the Pre-LI requirements. 

I am going to miss some classes, can I get an excuse?

Yes. Your TMCF talent manager will provide you with an office excuse letter.

Campus Coordinators/Chaperones FAQS

Once I Register, should I pay for my student’s registration as well? 

No. You will only provide payment for your individual registration in the registration portal. TMCF will invoice you for remittance of payment for your student participants. 

I have a TMCF Yardie schedule to attend Leadership Institute, do I have to pay the registration fee for that student? 

No. TMCF Yardies are sponsored student participants. Therefore, there registration fee is waved. 

Can I book more than one room at the discounted rate? 

No. The discounted hotel nightly rate only applies to one double bed room per school. 

Will TMCF provide ground transportation? 

Yes. TMCF will provide arrival and departure air and ground transportation accommodations for all student participants. 

Do I have to attend the Leadership Institute with my students? 

No. You are not required to attend Leadership Institute with your students.

Partner FAQS

Can I show my registrations on my phone at the door or do I need to have a physical print out of registrations with me?

All registrations are electronic and available via the TMCF App. Please visit your smartphone (e.g., Apple App store or Google Play) store and search for Guidebook. Once in Guidebook, search for “Thurgood Marshall College Fund” or “TMCF”.

What should I do if I don’t receive my registrations?

Send an email to leadershipinstitute@tmcf.org 

A member of our team can no longer attend. Can I replace that person with a new team member?

Yes, please contact leadershipinstitute@tmcf.org and ask for the request to be initiated.

Is there a way for me to get updates as the event gets closer as well as on the day of the event in case there are weather or traffic delays or other problems that could affect the event?

You will receive updates via the TMCF App.

How much of the Gala ticket is considered tax deductible?

The Gala ticket is tax deductible up to $180.

As a partner, I know I can attend plenary sessions. Can partners attend breakout sessions as well?

Our partners who host breakout sessions generally prefer to have them closed and reserved only for student participants.

How many students will be in Interactive, TMCF Talks and/or Microlearning Sessions?

The goal is to have between 50-60 students at each session. If you plan to provide handouts or share information, please include materials for at least 60 attendees. Students can select their Microlearning Session, so be thoughtful in naming your session to encourage students to attend.
