About Leadership institute
The award-winning Leadership Institute is a national program intended to develop students’ leadership skills, create a community of scholars, provide companies access to a talented and diverse student population, and help students make connections that lead to careers.
The Leadership Institute is a power-packed 4-day in person conference will prepare carefully selected students from the 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs) to compete in today’s very competitive global workforce. A key component of this experience will be the Recruitment Fair where Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and graduate program representatives will offer jobs, internships, and continuing education opportunities for the student participants.

As we celebrate our 36th year as an organization, we welcome you to Washington, DC to Ignite, Inspire, and Influence! Our commitment to “Changing the World ...One Leader at a Time” continues to fuel our work, and with our partners we are more driven than ever. Our theme, "Claim Your Flame", kindles the interest and prepares our students to blaze a path of success that navigates our world’s most complex and challenging problems.
